Hi Bluegrass Gospel fans!!  We are the King's Countrymen! Based in west-central Wisconsin, we perform at fairs, festivals, concerts, nursing homes, retirement centers, Bible camps, and churches to share the love of God and bluegrass gospel music with audiences of all ages. From nursing homes to Nashville, Tennessee and everywhere in between, our group of dedicated Christians has been on the road for the Lord since 1994. Our message of God's love is mixed with a touch of humor and testimony, and we hope to share that with all of you. Come and join us along the way!

Our mission:

1 Corinthians 3 vs. 6-9

Meet Our Band Members

The leader for the Countrymen is Lorn Schultz.  Playing rhythm guitar and singing lead and some harmonies, Lorn also serves as M.C. for the group.  Lorn and his  wife Kristi make their home in Mondovi, WI.  They enjoy a 42 acre hobby farm on the outskirts of Mondovi.   a

They have downsized and no longer have horses but still have their little dog they call Minnie Pearl and three cats.  Lorn retired from Buffalo Co Hwy Dept. after 34 years. Kristi retired spring of 2014 after being a  Registered Nurse for 42 plus years.  Now Kristi has once again taken over the job of  Sound Engineer for the Countrymen again. the job she started out with 23 years ago.  Glad to have her back full time!

Playing our lead guitar is George Cordwell from Withee, WI. As a strong Christian man, George has many things, both testimony and humor, to share with audiences wherever we go.  George is a retired diesel mechanic (semi retired anyway),  and we are very grateful to have him along with us.  He and his wife Elvada live in rural Withee, WI.   George and Elvada also have a large produce garden where they grow many varieties of vegetables for the folks in their area.  If you drive by their home you will see the large produce stand where Elvada spends much of her time throughout the summer. Don't forget to ask George about his many projects and inventions, including the famous TRAIN and the playground he's designed for his grandchildren

Playing our resophonic guitar (some call it a Dobro) is  Dan Cavanaugh from rural Mondovi, WI . Dan is originally from Kansas and spent 25 years in the US Army as an M.A.S.H. surgeon.  He also worked for fifiteen years with Sacred Heart Hospital as a surgeon along with the Marshfield Clinic.  Since retired Dan is now teaching young medical students at Eau Claire, WI.  A few years back  he was somehow enticed to pick up an old banjo that had been in the closet for over 10 years and learned to play it. Then just a short time ago he started pickin' the ole Dorbro , adding a great sound to some of the new songs the group is now doing,  Dan is very proud to be a part of the King's Countrymen in their ministry. He and his wife Pam are a great addition to the group.

Our bass player (and aspiring fiddle and guitar

player) is Mary Pimblett. Before starting with the King‘s Countrymen, Mary played with blue grass bands in her home state of Virginia, and in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana and Wisconsin. She is happy to call Eau Claire, WI  home now, and can usually be found in her backyard garden on summer evenings. Mary is working in  her own busness as a full time chiropractor. She has an office in Mondovi, WI. She is happy to be able to share her concern for others in both her work and her music. She is even writing some new songs for the group!

Joining the group again and playing mandolin and banjo is Mike Mansur . Mike is a founding member of the King's Countrymen starting in 1994. It's great to have him back on stage as Mike adds many years of talent and great experience to this ministry.  He and his wife Lois make their home in Augusta, WI.  While in semi-retirement he still has a few cars for sale.  Lois is now retired from the local bank in the area where she work many years. Now when ever possible they spend time at their camper on the lake with the family. Welcome back Mike & Lois.  Glad to have you with us again!

You may see Jim Williams many times at the product table.  Jim is a very important part of the King’s Countrymen as he handles all our product. Jim and his wife Gloria live in rural Mondovi, WI.  Jim does a fine job at the product table helping friends with all their CD questions. He is also our fill-in sound technician on occasion.    He and Gloria were very involved in organizing the Buffalo River Valley Bluegrass Gospel Festival that retired in 2016.   Be sure to stop by and chat with him at the table!

We hope that we may be able to meet and greet many of you fans along the way in the days to come. Until We Meet,

God Bless,  The King's Countrymen
